Started this drawing tonight, not sure if I’ll finish.
My name is Caitlin and sometimes I make things.
My anti-bullying poster for my 2-D Design class. The assignment was to pick a social issue that is important to you and create a poster for it.
Some of my closest friends were victims of bullying. The closest I ever got to being bullied was being made fun of for my hairy arms. Thankfully I never suffered any permanent resentments for that one though. I usually just laughed about it and rubbed my arms on people. ;)
Still, words can really hurt people. Especially kids.
I guess I can’t put it better than Kurt Vonnegut.
“Hello babies. Welcome to Earth. It’s hot in the summer and cold in the winter. It’s round and wet and crowded. On the outside, babies, you’ve got a hundred years here. There’s only one rule that I know of, babies - God damn it, you’ve got to be kind.”
11x14 inches, acrylic paint
I am painting over photos from a giant cat book I got for my birthday.
What the heck am I doing right now?
11x14 Pen drawing project for my 2-D class.
The goal was to transition one emotional state into another. Mine were “anchored” and “fickle”.
Thoughts?
